Improve Your Front Rack Position and Make It Stick!
What Is Really Limiting Us From Getting Into The Position?
What Do We Need To Turn Off?
What Do We Need To Turn On?
It’s important that we begin in a manageable position where we’re able to inhibit extensor tone and facilitate the muscles we’re looking to turn on with good respiration. This gives our nervous system a reference and allows us to develop kinesthetic awareness in a safe environment with more points of contact with the ground and feedback about our position in space. However, we’re attempting to teach the nervous system a new motor control strategy that will transfer over to front squatting over time, which requires that we are able to inhibit extensor tone and facilitate muscles that oppose it in positions that require more active stability and control against gravity.
